RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT PROCESS Design and Manufacturing Documentation: • We create detailed design specification including system level block diagrams, functionality, and performance expectations, defining functional blocks and modules required. • Power, performance, and price are considered at all stages of our design process. An estimated BOM can be generated in the early stages to help complete a business case. • At the end of a design phase, documentation and manufacturing files are packaged appropriately in order to ensure smooth production prior to release. Efficient Development Cycle: • We have developed a very effective design management system tailored for the electronics manufacturing industry. Improvements are made on an ongoing basis to ensure our clients maintain a competitive advantage. • When we are contracted to provide services, clients realize an on-time development cycle due to efficient processes that span all stages of development. Design Implementation: • Detailed product design including circuit design schematics, logic design, mechanical design, and mathematical analysis are performed at this stage, CAD tools being used extensively. • Functional blocks can be rapid prototyped at this stage if their evaluation is necessary prior to prototype build. • Design for Manufacturability is assessed from the early stages of design to ensure acceptable yields in production. • Reviews occur between development phases to ensure that priorities are maintained in accordance with your schedule and requirements. Prototype Validation: • When prototypes have been built, they are debugged and verified against the product specifications. • In the case that design changes are required prior to or following customer testing, rework is performed and documented, and subsequent prototypes are produced and tested where necessary. • At the completion of this stage, we deliver physical prototypes for the customer's evaluation. Certification and Approvals: • We aim to obtain regulatory approvals from the early stages of product design. • We liaise with certification labs to obtain emissions and safety approvals on behalf of the client. Field & Life Cycle Support: • We offer field trial support where proof of concept, performance or failure analysis is required. • We provide life-cycle support in the form of solutions for cost reduction, component obsolescence, and next-generation product development.
